ICO files contain multiple sizes of the same icon (typically 16×16, 32×32, 48×48, 256×256). Our converter extracts the largest available size to give you the highest-resolution JPEG output.
Favicons are designed for very small display sizes (16×16 or 32×32 pixels). When converted to JPEG and displayed at larger sizes, they will look pixelated because the source resolution is low. If you have a high-resolution version of your logo, convert that to ICO instead.
JPEG does not support transparency. Transparent areas in the ICO (common for icons on coloured taskbars) will be replaced with a white background. For transparency-preserving conversion, use ICO to PNG instead.
