Choose the output format from the dropdown. Set quality and other options from the Settings panel.

Hit Convert All to batch-process all files at once. Up to 3 files convert in parallel so large queues finish fast.

Download files individually or grab them all as a ZIP. Everything runs in your browser — no uploads to any server.
GIF files are widely used for simple animations and memes, but their 256-colour limit makes them poor-quality for photographs and complex graphics. Convert the first frame of a GIF to JPEG, PNG, or WebP to get a proper still image you can edit, print, or share. Our converter processes GIFs entirely in your browser — no upload, no waiting.

This tool converts the first (or key) frame of a GIF to a still image format (JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP). For converting animated GIFs to MP4 or WebM video, you would need a dedicated video converter tool.
GIF supports a maximum of 256 colours per frame, which is far too few for photographs. Modern digital photos contain millions of colours. This is why GIF photos show visible colour banding and posterisation. Converting the content to JPEG or PNG restores proper colour depth.
Yes — GIF supports a single transparent colour (binary transparency, not alpha blending). This means a pixel is either fully transparent or fully opaque; there are no semi-transparent pixels. PNG and WebP offer much better transparency with full alpha channel support.
GIF animations store every frame of the animation, and each frame can be up to 256 colours. Long animations or high-resolution GIFs can be tens of megabytes. For static images mistakenly saved as GIF, converting to JPEG or WebP typically reduces the file size by 70–90%.
WebP and AVIF both support animation at much better quality and compression than GIF. Video formats (MP4/WebM) are even better for longer animations. For short loops, WebP animation is typically 60–70% smaller than an equivalent GIF.
