Convert to BMP only when a specific application or system requires it. For general use, JPEG (smaller files, wide compatibility) or PNG (lossless, transparency) are far better choices. BMP is specifically for legacy Windows software compatibility.
BMP stores the decoded pixel data losslessly, but if the AVIF was lossy-compressed (which most are), the existing compression artefacts are preserved in the BMP. No additional quality loss is introduced by BMP itself.
Significantly larger than the AVIF. AVIF is highly compressed; BMP is completely uncompressed. A 200 KB AVIF might become 5–15 MB as BMP. Ensure your target system can handle large BMP files.
Standard 24-bit BMP does not support transparency. Transparent areas in AVIF images will be replaced with a white background in the BMP output.
Yes. Upload multiple AVIF files and convert them all to BMP in one session. Download individually or as a ZIP archive.
